1. These terms
These terms govern your use of cairogoods.com. By creating an account, posting a listing or booking a consultation, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.
2. What Cairo Goods is — and is not
Cairo Goods is a venue. We connect buyers with sellers, employers with candidates, and patients with doctors. We are not a party to any sale, rental, employment arrangement or course of treatment agreed through the platform.
We review listings before they go live, but review is not a guarantee. We do not inspect goods, verify ownership, confirm that a vehicle’s history is as described, or guarantee that an employer or buyer will do what they promised. Satisfy yourself before you hand over money.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or over. Give accurate details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
One person, one account. Do not create an account to evade a suspension.
4. Posting listings
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to display it on the platform and in related promotion for as long as it is live.
By posting, you confirm that:
- the item is real, you are entitled to sell or let it, and it is described honestly;
- the photos are of the actual item, not taken from somewhere else;
- the price is genuine, and any fees a buyer must pay are stated;
- you have the right to share any contact details you include.
Listings are reviewed before publication and go live once approved. An approved listing expires automatically after 60 days; you can post it again.
5. What you may not post or do
- Anything illegal in Egypt, or anything you are not entitled to sell.
- Weapons, drugs, medicines, counterfeits, live animals, or human tissue.
- Stolen goods, or goods you do not actually have.
- Fake listings, bait pricing, or any attempt to defraud another user.
- Someone else’s personal data, or photos of people who have not agreed.
- Hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content.
- Scraping, bulk-collecting other users’ contact details, or any automated access that burdens the platform.
- Attempting to bypass security, rate limits, or the moderation process.
6. Moderation, reports and suspension
Any user can report a listing. Once a listing has three open reports it is automatically hidden from public view pending review, so that a harmful listing does not stay up while reports queue. A person — not an automated system — then makes the final decision.
We may reject or remove a listing that breaks these terms. When we reject one, we email you to say so, and include the reason where one was given. You can correct the listing and submit it again, or contact us if you think we got it wrong.
For repeated or serious breaches we may suspend or close an account. We will tell you why, unless telling you would obstruct an investigation or we are prevented by law.
7. Online consultations
Online consultations are not a substitute for emergency care. If you have a medical emergency, call the emergency services or go to the nearest hospital — do not use this platform.
Doctors on Cairo Goods are independent practitioners. We check an application before a doctor’s profile goes live, but we do not employ them, we do not supervise their clinical judgement, and we are not responsible for the medical advice they give. The doctor–patient relationship is between you and them.
A consultation held by video or phone has real limits: a doctor cannot examine you physically. Follow any advice to attend in person.
Doctors are responsible for holding a valid licence to practise, for keeping to their professional obligations including confidentiality, and for the accuracy of the qualifications on their profile.
8. Fees and payments
Posting a listing on Cairo Goods is free.
Consultation fees are set by each doctor and shown on their profile before you book. Online payment is not currently enabled; until it is, payment is arranged between you and the doctor. When we do enable it, payment will be handled by our payment processor and this section will be updated before it takes effect.
Payments between buyers and sellers in the marketplace happen directly between them. We are not involved and we hold no money in escrow.
9. Liability
We provide the platform as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted service or that every listing is accurate.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for disputes between users, for the condition or legality of anything sold, for medical advice given by a doctor, or for losses arising from a transaction we are not party to.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Closing your account
You can stop using the platform at any time and ask us to delete your account; see your rights in the Privacy Policy. We may close an account that breaches these terms, as described in section 6.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell account holders by email before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction over any dispute.
